The purpose of the proposed overlay zone is to allow for the development of mixed-use and/or residential land uses within the Overlay Area. To accommodate this objective, the City will need to amend the current General Plan to permit these new land uses, and amend the Zoning Code to establish development standards that implement the City's vision for the development of mixed-use and/or residential projects within the Overlay Area.
