Document Description
The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) is proposing to construct and operate a substation and appurtenant overhead line facility in the northern SMUD service area. The proposed 16th-Elverta substation is a 69,000-volt to 12,000-volt substation that will serve planned new development. The substation site will be connected to existing overhead 69 kV lines within SMUD's subtransmission grid system. A new 69 kV line will be constructed, extending about three-fourths of a mile to connect to existing lines. Underground 12 kV lines will emanate from the substation and will serve residential and commercial customers. Underground 12 kV lines will be routed to various pad-mounted step-down transformers within the service area to provide electrical power to residential and commercial customers. The 16th-Elverta site will serve largely what is known as the Gibson Ranch development, and be located within the proposed Countryside Equestrian Estates development. The APN for the site is 203-0010-16.
