Document Description
The Folsom Dam Raise Project is a cooperative effort between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the State of CA CVFPB, and the Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency to provide enhanced flood risk protection to the Sacramento Metropolitan Area. Construction of Alternative 2 (the preferred alternative) would include 1) raising the crest elevations of the existing earthen embankment dikes (Dikes 1-8) and the Mormon Island Auxiliary Dam by 3.5 feet; 2) raising the crest elevation of the right and left wing dams by adding concrete floodwalls; and 3) making refinements to the Folsom Dam's spillway Tainter gates and other structural modifications to the dam. CVFPB has adopted mitigation measures for the project.
