Document Description
The Central Valley Flood Protection Board has prepared a Supplemental EIR to the Final EIS/EIR prepared in 2007 for the Folsom Dam Safety and Flood Damage Reduction Join Federal Project (JFP). This Supplemental EIR proposes a change in schedule for rock blasting in-the-dry and analyzes potential effects on noise, traffic, and recreation. Previously analyzed in the 2012 SEIS/EIR for the approach channel (SCH# 2012072039) was the need to excavate the rock plug using blasting methods. Blasting time frames included 1:30-2:30 pm and 10:00-11:00 am for the project duration (2013-2017). This supplemental EIR proposes an additional time from 7:00-8:00 pm for rock blasting operations to occur in-the-dry during the summer months of June through September of 2014 to 2017. Mitigation measures approved as part of the 2012 Approach Channel SEIS/EIR will be implemented to minimize potential impacts to the environment.
