Document Description
The proposed permitting action is a Class 1 * Permit Modification of the Pacific Scientific Energetic Materials Company RCRA Hazardous Waste Permit. Permitted activities are unchanged from the 2006 permit. The only changes proposed as part of the Class 1 * Permit Modification are: 1. Install bolts anchoring the two tanks at TSU-8 and associated piping to meet seismic safety standards. All work will occur within the boundaries of the existing TSU-8. Work will include emptying and cleaning the existing tanks and secondary containment, installing anchor bolts, coating of welded areas with a protective coating, testing welds, and coating the anchors with a polyurethane coating to seal the anchor penetrations within the secondary containment. 2. Revisions to the Hazardous Waste Facility Training Requirements, consistent with California Code of Regulations, Title 22, subdivision 66264.16. No physical change is proposed as a result to the Training Plan revisions. The only constructive changes are minor alterations within a previously established and constructed unit (TSU-8) to improve safety. No other constructive changes are proposed.
