The Project will reconfigure and develop the 22-acre Project site with new athletic facilities. The Project will occur in two phases. The entire 22-acre Project site will be prepared and graded during Phase 1 to facilitate construction of new athletic facilities during Phase 1 and Phase 2. This Project includes the permanent protection and perpetual management of compensatory habitat. This Project will result in permanent impacts to 42 western Joshua trees (Yucca brevifolia) and 7.5 acres of habitat supporting western Joshua trees and seedbank. This Project is expected to result in incidental take of western Joshua tree, which is a species designated as candidate for listing as threatened pursuant to the California Endangered Species Act (CESA).
