Document Description
The channel section between Arcane Street and Newman Street has failed and is in imminent danger of collapsing; the channel walls are currently being supported by steel bracing materials. The project includes demolition and replacement of the existing concrete-lined storm drain channel. The existing channel is a rectangular cross-section 16-feet wide and 5-feet deep; it has the capacity to convey approximately 877 cubic feet per second (cfs) of water. The proposed channel would also be a rectangular section, however the capacity would be increased to 1,275 cfs by increasing the channel to 19-feet wide and 6-feet deep. This modification would contain the 100-year flow and provide 100-year flood protection for adjacent residents.
