Document Description
The City of Shafter, in cooperation with the County of Kern, Caltrans, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), will widen 7th Standard Road from a two lane rural roadway to four lanes from Coffee Road to Santa Fe Way. The project includes widening the existing - or constructing new - canal crossings at Calloway, Friant-Kern, and Lerdo canals and constructing a grade separation over the BNSF railroad at Santa Fe Way. The purpose of the project is to improve safety and traffic operations on 7th Standard Road and provide sufficient vehicular capacity to accommodate existing and future traffic at a level of service C or better.
