Document Description
Metropolitan has worked proactively with the Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) and the Three Valleys Municipal Water District (TVMWD) to address the need to increase the reliability of deliveries to both member agencies' service areas, given Metropolitan's planned maintenance and rehabilitation activities. The Rialto Pipeline lacks shutoff valves throughout most of its length. Because the Rialto Pipeline is the primary source of water for the TVMWD and IEUA service areas, shutdowns of any significant duration impact Metropolitan's ability to meet agency demands. Metropolitan is proposing to install three isolation control structures at strategic locations to allow Metropolitan to continue water deliveries to member agencies during feeder shutdowns.
