Document Description
The project is limited to the routine maintenance of the Los Vaqueros Reservoir Dam which will consist of an initial vegetation removal phase, annual vegetation management phase, and an emergency discharge exersie. The initial vegetation removal phase will permanently impact 0.47 acres of habitat at a level in which to allow the conveyance of water safety from the dam structure. The emergency discharge exercise will release approximately 336,000 gallons of water into Kellogg Creek once per year. Mitigation for this project consists of the improvement of 745 linear feet on both banks of Kellogg Creek in a downstream area of the project that will total 1.0 acre in habitat enhancements through the planting of native tree and hydrophilic plant species along the creek riparian area and the removal of invasive species.
