State Water Board staff is currently working to revise the toxicity control provisions in the Policy for implementation of Toxics Standards for Inland Surface Waters. Enclosed Bays, and Estuaries of California (SIP). Proposal changes include clarifying the appropriate form of effluent toxicity limits in National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits and general expansion and standardization of toxicity control implementation related to the NPDES permitting process.
