The project site consists of ~1,258 parcels located throughout the developed portion of the City of Ontario and comprises 640 acres. The proposed Cimarron Redevelopment Plan Amendment area includes three distinct "added areas" (Areas A-C), located throughout the City of Ontario. The proposed Added Areas include parcels in close proximity to the Ontario International Airport consisting of industial uses, including General Industrial and Airport Industial properties, and the Grove Avenue Business Park. Extending along the Euclid Avenue corridor are properties zoned Commercial, Neighborhood Commercial, General Commercial, and Medium Density Residential properties. The northern area in proximity to the San Bernardino (I-10) Freeway includes various commercial and residential properties comprised of Neighborhood Commercial, and General Commercial, High, Low, and Medium Density Residential. In the northwestern region of the City in the vicinity of Mountain Avenue the land uses include primarily High and Low Density Residential properties, and a small number of Neighborhood Commercial properties.
Document Description
The proposed project consists of an Amendment to the City of Ontario's Cimarron Redevelopment Project Area Plan. The primary characteristics of the project include:
- The addition of approx. 1,258 parcels to the existing Cimarron Redevelopment Project Area Plan, providing various redevelopment activities to eliminate blight, culminating in built-out of the area in accordance with the General Plan, considering the potential amendmens mentioned below;
- Amending the General Plan and zoning designations to make 51 parcels of primarily commercial property within the proposed Added Area available for residential development.
