The north side of Grant Line Road lies within the City of Elk Grove. Current land uses in the area include industrial, residential, and agricultural. The City of Elk Grove General Plan designates Grant Line Road in the project area as Heavy and Light Industrial at Survey Road, Commercial just west of Mosher Road, and Low Density, Estate and Rural Residential from Mosher Road to Bradshaw Road. Additionally, some small Public Open Space/Recreation land use areas are located just west of Waterman Road and approximately half way between Mosher Road and Bradshaw Road. The south side of Grant Line Road lies within Sacramento County. Current land uses in the area are primarily agricultural and farmland consists of Farmland of Statewide Importance, Farmland of Local Importance, and Unique Farmland. The Sacramento County General Plan designates the area south of Grant Line Road in the project as Extensive Industrial west of Waterman Road and General Agricultural east of Waterman Road.

Document Description
The proposed project would widen Grant Line Road between Survey Road and Bradshaw Road. The project would also realign the Grant Line Road/Waterman Road intersections, install traffic signals at those intersections, realign portions of Waterman Road including providing new access points, construct a frontage road and secondary access route for certain parcels located south of Grant Line Road, and install bike lanes, crosswalks and pedestrian sidewalks. The project will also relocate various utilities including but not limited to electrical and petroleum transmission lines, and involves drainage modifications in conjunction with the new roadway. The existing at-grade UPRR crossing (UPRR Grant Line Road, M.P. 54.00) would also be replaced with a grade-separated overhead structure.
