Document Description
The project involves the replacement of four deteriorated drainage culverts (USBR Stations 86+80, 86+30, 85+30, & 84+80), which are approx. 36x22 inch arches coated with zinc, under a levee road that transport Tequisquita Slough flows into San Felipe Lake. The four existing drainage culverts will be replaced with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) smooth walled culverts. The project also includes the use of a storage/laydown area. Replacement of these culverts is necessary maintenance for the continued control and regulation of pressure for drinking water to municipalities served by the SCVWD.
Project will result in temporary impacts to 0.6 acres of CA tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of CA tiger salamander, which is designated as a threatened species under the CA Endangered Species Act. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
