Document Description
PG&E will excavate a section of two existing parallel pipelines to examine the condition of the pipes, clean off any corrosion, and apply a protective coating. The pipelines are approximately two feet apart from each other. Approximately 90 feet of each pipeline needs to be inspected and recoated with a protective coating to prevent corrosion. A portion of the pipelines crosses through Los Gatos Creek. The excavated area will be approximately 90 feet long, 20 feet wide, and three feet deep. In addition, three new pipe anchors will be installed to hold the pipeline in place when the creek flows. The anchors consist of brackets that wrap around the pipe and are attached to two 6-inch steel poles that are driven approximately 22 feet into the ground. Work will be performed during dry conditions. Following recoating of the pipelines and installation of the anchors, the excavated area will be returned to its original contour.
