Document Description
Reconstruct and re-route failed sections of the Table Rock Trail in Robert Louis Stevenson State Park to provide barrier free access through trail realignment, and reduce erosion and sedimentation. Drainage swales will be installed, rock armoring imported and re-routes will be constructed along the trail to enhance accessibility and trail drainage. The portions of road that are in evidence on the 1943 USGS map will not be removed by this project. Stabilization of non-historic roadbed will occur wherever possible as visitor use is directed to the approximate 2 miles of reconstructed trail. District archaeologist will be consulted prior to trail construction. Trail will be realigned in the event any cultural sites are found within the proposed trail corridor. Trail design and construction will follow the Regulatory Negotiation Committee on Accessibilty's Guidelines for trails. Project improves accessibility and supports continued use and maintenance.
