Complete project in two phases: Phase I: remove coyote brush using hand tools in selected locations (totaling approximately 50 acres) within the project area and spray area with 50/50 Garlon 4 herbicide-agricultural oil solution. Phase II: conduct prescribed burn to promote and maintain the spread of native grass and forb species. A prescribed burn plan will be prepared by State Parks Natural Resources staff prior to implementing Phase II. The State Parks District Archaeologist shall be notified prior to the commencement of each project phase, in order to carry out survey and documentation measures and to develop protective measures for cultural resources identified in the project area.
