Construct Carport for Bothe-Napa Valley State Park Equipment

Construct a carport to provide shelter for equipment stored at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park, to reduce deterioration caused by inclement weather. The open-sided structure will have a wooden frame and metal shed roof and approximate dimensions of 40 feet in length by 28 feet in width and 16 feet high. Erect carport in exact location where equipment is currently being stored. Some minor ground disturbance will be required for the placement of footings to support 8 structural posts. In the event that archaeological materials are discovered during the project-related activities, work shall stop immediately and remain halted until and DPR-qualified archaeologist has evaluated the nature of the material and completed data recovery and/or protective measures for any significant cultural resources. In the event that human remains are discovered, work shall cease immediately and the project manager/site supervisor shall notify the District Archaeologist, the authorized State Representative and/or the DPR Sector Superintendent, who shall report the discovery to the County Coroner in accordance with § 7050.5 of the California Health and Safety Code. If the County Coroner determines the remains to be Native American, DPR shall immediately contact the Native American Heritage Commission for direction on appropriate action. No human remains or funerary objects shall be cleaned, photographed, analyzed, or removed from the site prior to such direction. Project supports maintenance and continued use of an existing Park facility.
