Document Description
Install viewing telescope at the Mount Diablo State Park Fire Interpretive Trail asphalt overlook area which can be used from a seated position and meets California State Park Accessibility Guidelines (CSPAG). Dig a single hole using hand tools approximately 2 feet deep in which to install the telescope. Ensure a stable and firm clear space in front of the telescope to allow for a parallel approach. Delineate accessible path of travel to telescope from a parking stall, the visitor center, or other public facility. Design of path shall conform to the guidelines of an Outdoor Recreation Access Route. Project manager shall arrange with the State Parks Accessibility Section to document, photograph, verify and inspect the ongoing work in progress, and affirm that the installation conforms with the CSPAG. If, as anticipated, the installation will be accomplished by a volunteer Boy Scout, a State Park representative shall be present at all times to guide and monitor the work.
