Document Description
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission is currently in the planning phase to construct a 4,500 linear-foot tunnel to replace the existing Crystal Springs Bypass Pipeline (CSBP) located within a utility easement along Polhemus Road/Crystal Springs Road in order to improve the long-term reliability of the water transmission system in the area. The tunnel would cross under San Mateo Creek. Geotechnical borings are necessary to determine the depth of bedrock under the creek, and the subsequent depth of the tunnel. The proposed geotechnical borings involve drilling two vertical boreholes and three inclined bore holes. The tunnel will be covered under a separate Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2005-0201-3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
