Document Description
The Upper San Leandro Water Treatment Plant Reliability Improvements Project (Project) is one of many projects in the certified WTTIP EIR and includes ozone system upgrades, a new filter-to-waste equalization basin, and a new filter-to-waste pumping plant. During the detailed design, some changes to the original Project were identified. These Project changes include upgrades to the raw water control valve, flocculation system, sedimentation basin, washwater reclaim and solids handling system, chlorine contact basin, clearwell, and miscellaneous electrical, structural, civil, and security improvements
In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, EBMUD completed an Addendum to the WTTIP EIR to address environmental impacts from the design changes. An evaluation was conducted and it was determined that the changes do not result in new significant impacts or cause an increase in the severity of previously identified impacts as presented in the certified WTTIP EIR. EBMUD will implement the same mitigation measures for the design changes that are presented in the WTTIP EIR. No further environmental documentation is required.
