Document Description
The Ozone System Upgrade Project is one of many projects in the certified WTTIP EIR and includes replacement of the existing air-fed ozone system with a liquid oxygen (LOX) ozone system at the Sobrante Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Upper San Leandro (USL) WTP. During the detailed design of the project, some changes and additions to the original project were identified. These changes include the revision of LOX tank size, addition of vaporizer structures at the LOX tanks, modification of the LOX facility location, addition of required piping, and addition of new HVAC equipment with exterior access stairs, a landing, and access doors on the existing ozone buildings at both WTPs.
In accordance with CEQA, EBMUD completed an Addendum to the WTTIP EIR to address environmental impacts from the design changes. An evaluation was conducted, and it was determined that the changes do not result in new significant impacts from the design changes.
