Document Description
The project is an ordinance to amend the Oakland Planning Code to incorporate standards and requirements for bicycle parking in certain types of development. The regulations address bicycle racks, lockers, cages and showers, and how these facilities would be included in future development. The requirements are specified by land use type and also apply to major remodels. In addition to the bicycle parking requirements in the Planning Code, the project includes amendments to Title 9, Chapter 9.52 (Special Event Permits), to include requirements for attended bicycle parking at special events with over 5,000 attendees. This project implements the 2007 Bicycle Master Plan.
