Construction & operation of expanded Federal Inspection Services (FIS) facility, increasing capacity as part of the Airport Implementation Plan (evaluated in the 2008 FEIR at a Project-level analysis). Includes facilities for international passengers (i.e., the federal inspection of arriving international passengers: Customs & Border Patrol, baggage claim, & U.S. Dept. of Agriculture). The current FIS facility, located in T2E, has reached capacity & must be replaced. FIS is to be relocated to the existing T2W. Pursuant to Section 15162 of CEQA Guidelines, an Addendum to the 2008 FEIR was prepared & considered along with the 2008 FEIR in approving the project.
