Reasons for Exemption
The installation of monitoring wells and extraction system expansion anticipates constructing three groundwater monitoring wells and remedial tie-ins to other existing groundwater monitoring wells at the District's existing Operations Center. These three groundwater monitoring wells will be constructed in an area that is already disturbed or partially graveled, and is being used by the District for the storage of containers and piping. No additional development is intended or permitted. The wells are used for monitoring only and no expansion of an existing use is contemplated. These three groundwater monitoring wells will not interfere with the Site's current or continued use or with the District's Operation Center activities. Furthermore, it can be seen with certainty that the continued use of the Site and the construction of these three groundwater monitoring wells will not have a significant impact on the environment.
