Reasons for Exemption
The project consists of acquisition of buildings and related facilities that are currently leased by the State Department of Food & Agriculture as a Glassy-winged sharpshooter research facility. A Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) was undertaken in June 2003, for an 80-acre parcel of which this 4.18 acre parcel is a part of. The Phase 1 ESA found no evidence of recognized environmental conditions that would preclude the state from acquiring the property. The existing uses of the property will continue with no change to the buildings, support facilities, or program.
