Document Description
United Water Conservation District (UWCD) proposes to eradicate Arundo donax from the lower reaches of Piru Creek (below the Santa Felicia Dam). Arundo is present on the east bank of the creek between the Center Road Bridge and Hwy. 126. Multiple stands of Arundo have been observed, all of which are in mature stages, indicating several years of growth. If left unabated, this Arundo could disperse throughout the creek, and quickly become an unmanageable problem. UWCD is proposing to eradicate the Arundo from Piru Creek while it is still feasible to do so. Following eradication, UWCD will provide maintenance and monitoring of the infested area for a minimum of 5 years.
