Document Description
The project is an annual off-highway vehicle race or sand drag competition held as a special event at Oceano Dunes SVRA, November 26 and 27, 2005. The event is designed as a competition to promote four-wheel and off-highway vehicle recreation, sponsored by local and national off-highway vehicle clubs. The event is held in an open sand dune area of Oceano Dunes SVRA known as Maiden Flats. No vegetated or other sensitive habitat areas are within the event area. The event is not held during any threatened or endangered bird nesting season. Temporary fencing is installed around the event area to control access, protect adjacent resources, and limit the event size.
