Reasons for Exemption
The lead agency finds that the project is in conformance with the Categorical Exemption Class 4 (CCR 15504) and that the conversion of 4.05 acres of timberland will not have significant effects on the environment. In accordance with the California Forest Practice Rules (CCR 1105.2), the Director has determined that (1) the applicant has a bona fide intent to convert in light of the current and predicted economic ability of the applicant to carry out the proposed conversion; and (2) the conversion is environmentally feasible given existing site specific characteristics, including, but not limited to, the suitability of the soils, slope, aspect, quality and quantity of water, and micro climate.
