Document Description
Project includes activities that were included and analyzed as part of the Sacramento International Master Plan EIR (County Control No. 04-DAE-0018), as well as some activities that were not specifically addressed in Master Plan EIR. However, these activities represent minor project additions under CEQA Guidelines Section 15164b that warrants the preparation of an addendum to a previously adopted EIR. The Project consists of a series of new and maintenance activities at the SMF east taxiway to improve the integrity and functionality of the system, including: Pavement reconstruction of Taxiways D, D3, D5, D7, D9, and D11. Existing section to be removed and replaced with 5" of asphalt concrete over 14" of Cement Treated Base. Construction of 30' wide shoulders with a revised fillet design as specified in the current Federal Aviation Administration Advisory Circular (FAA AC). Construction and extension of Taxiways W and Y1 as indicated in the exhibit. This new pavement will have the same section as the proposed reconstruction. Installation of electrical infrastructure and taxiway centerline lights and cans. Removal of pavement of Taxiway Y between Y1 and D to comply with the latest geometric designs as specified in the current FAA AC. Widening and reconstruction of Cy Homer Road will also be required once the main construction contract work is completed. This will be due to the anticipated heavy loading and impact from the construction hauling activity. Cy Homer Road will be widened from 15' to 30' at the point of intersection with Taxiway D. It will then be tapered to the existing 15' width over a length of approx. 1,450'.
