Document Description
The project proposes to extend the alignment of Elkhorn Boulevard from Metro Air Park to Airport Boulevard. The total project length of the extension is approximately 5,900 linear feet. Project details include the following: • Construction activity will occur southeast of the existing on-airport fueling station and south of the passenger economy parking lot. • Access to the staging area and construction site will be from Aviation Drive and Meister Way. • A new traffic signal at the intersection of Power Line Road and Elkhorn Boulevard that includes surface improvements and wet utility connections. The SMF Elkhorn Boulevard Extension will be a public access road to provide secondary access to the Airport property and alleviate increasing surface traffic utilizing the existing I-5/Airport Boulevard Interchange.
