Document Description
The San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board is issuing a Clean Water Act Section 401 water quality certification (Cert. No. R9-2014-0028) to the project applicant, Dynegy South Bay, LLC. The applicant proposes to remove in-water structures associated with the South Bay Power Plant within tidal waters of San Diego Bay. The voids left by removing the intake structures will be filled in to match the slope and substrate of the adjacent shoreline. The remaining structures will be removed by crane with minimal impact to the shoreline and bay floor, with the exception of four discharge structures, which will be structurally sealed in place.
