Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Section 15306
Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is located outside of critical habitat for the federally-listed San Bernardino Kangaroo Rat (SBKR). A permitted SBKR biologist surveyed the orchard on June 17, 2005, but found no evidence of this species. Therefore, no significant impact is expected. The proposed work is exempt because its purpose is to gather geologic information on the feasibility of constructing a reservoir on the site.
