Grand Central Recycling & Transfer Station, Inc. proposes to construct a municipal solid waste (MSW) transfer station in the City of Pomona (City), California. The project has been identified as the Grand Central Transfer Station Project. Pomona is an inland city in eastern Los Angeles County. It is surrounded by the cities of San Dimas, La Verne, and Claremont to the north; the cities of Upland and Ontario to the east; the City of Chino to the south, and the cities of Covina and West Covina to the west. The City of Los Angeles is approximately 30-miles west of Pomona, and the City of Riverside is located approximately 15-miles to the east. The proposed project site is located in eastern Los Angeles County, approximately 0.4 miles west of the border with San Bernardino County.
