The widened 1,275 foot length of Salinas Road will accommodate left turn channelization within the southbound lane where a private road has been constructed south of Salinas Road. The new private access road was not part of the project. The 1.205-acre Project Area includes: the 0.585-acre area which constitutes 1,275 feet of the 20 foot wide northbound lane (and paved shoulder backing) of Salinas Road; the 0.505-acre ruderal area adjoining the northbound lane which will be converted to paved roadway to accomplish the widening; and the 0.115-acre ruderal area beyond that which will be temporarily disturbed during the Project. Take of CA tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) may occur in the form of capture in the event individuals become entrapped in open trenches or uncovered during excavations within the Project Area; if individuals become confined within the Project Area by the required Covered Species survey or salvage and relocation efforts over the three-year term of the ITP. CA tiger salamander is listed as threatened under CESA. Permittee will mitigate through the purchase of at least 1.64 Covered Species credits at the Sparling Ranch Conservation Bank.
