Document Description
The project proposes the closure of a former landfill site on a 35.1-acre property pursuant to the implementation of a Removal Action Workplan (RAW) under the California Health and Safety Code. The project will cover the landfill waste with a low permeability soil layer and install drainage facilities to minimize surface water infiltration in the location of the buried waste. Grading and excavation will impact approximately 9.3 acres of the project site. Mitigation measures include revegetation of the landfill cover and revegetation/enhancement of riparian areas in adjacent drainages to Spring Canyon, and the dedication of a conservation easement over the portions of the property within the boundaries of the City of San Diego MHPA. The project site will be monitored in accordance with the RAW for biological and water quality performance.
