Document Description
The proposed project includes bank protection measures in the Sand Cove Park vicinity that would protect a cultural resources site that is currently being eroded by the Sacramento River. Specifically, the project would (1) protect the toe of the bank with 700 linear feet of rock riprap from elevation 1 foot to 6 feet (NGVD29), (2) use non-engineered fill up to the top of the bank from elevation 6 feet to 24 feet, (3) place instream wood debris (IWM) clusters from elevation 6 feet to 15 feet for aquatic habitat and bank stabilization, and (4) plant pole and container plantings from elevation 8 feet to 24 feet to stabilize the bank and provide riparian habitat.
