Document Description
In a further refinement to the previously approved project, the District proposes to additionally install approximately 13,200 lineal feet of 48-inch diameter CML&C welded steel pipe, fittings, and appurtenances to its distribution system to provide a delivery route for water from the Cactus Avenue Pumping Plant proposed in the FEIR to the District's existing facilities at the intersection of Cactus Avenue and Heacock Street in the City of Moreno Valley. The Cactus Avenue Pipeline would be constructed of 48-inch diameter welded steel pipe designed and constructed to water industry standards. The pipeline would connect to Metropolitan's 96-inch diameter Perris Valley Pipeline that generally extends south-southwest from the Mills Treatment Plant westerly of the I-215 Freeway. The Cactus Avenue Pipeline would begin at the discharge side of the Cactus Pump Station which is located on Lot 68 of the Meridian Development that is approximately 800 feet west of the I-215 Freeway. The alignment would traverse east from the Cactus Pump Station crossing the I-215 Freeway about 800 feet north of the I-215 Freeway/Cactus Avenue Interchange. The alignment would extend across an undeveloped parcel to the existing East Frontage Road that parallels along the east side of the I-215 Freeway, where it would turn south. From this location the alignment would extend south along the west side of the East Frontage Road right-of-way to before reaching Cactus Avenue, and then extend eastward along the south side of Cactus Avenue to its terminus at Heacock Street. The proposed alignment would be approximately 2.5 miles in length.
