Reasons for Exemption
These improvements will ensure the consistent delivery of water to downstream users and will not alter the existing use or expand the current customer base. The project will maintain the current function of the headgate and improve water flow under the farm road, and while the new structure will allow water to pass more quickly, the project will not result in increased quantities of water delivered to District customers. The new structure will eliminate an identified public safety hazard to vehicles, and the District staff operating the headgate. The nature of these project activities would ultimately result in no significant impact on air quality, noise levels, water quality, erosion potential, cultural resources, and biological resources. The project consists solely of the replacement of the structures with new materials located on the same sites as the original structures and will serve the same purpose as the existing structures.
