Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2016-0074-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Oakstone Investments, LLC. The project is limited to removal of approx. 0.215 acres of riparian vegetation (riparian scrub and riparian woodland) including removal of three (3) trees; (2 Freemont Cottonwoods and a Gooding's Willow); removal of 86 cubic yards of soil from the west bank of the Sacramento River from below the ordinary High Water Mark and placement of approx. 1,500 tons of 18 inch minus rip rap (quarry stone) on the west bank of the river within the existing rip rap in the area (300 tons above the ordinary high water mark and 1,200 tons below the ordinary high water mark. Interstitial spaces in the rip rap below the Ordinary High Water Mark (OHWM) will be filled by the application of 10 inch minus quarry stone in an effort to minimize habitat for predatory fish species that could impact outward migrating anadromous salmonid young. The rip rap will be delivered to the site by means of a floating barge for the quarry stone to be placed below the OHWM and by small dump truck for the material placed further up the bank. The initial 18 inch minus stone will be placed over the existing rip rap by means of a swing arm attached to the barge. The large river bank ulceration associated with the Gooding's Willow will be repaired with compacted 3 inch minus granular soil prior to placement of rip rap. It is anticipated that all large woody debris associated with previous bank stabilization activities in this reach will remain undisturbed.
