The proposed project consists of a new high school intended to provide 1,809 two-semester seats for grades 9 through 12. The school is intended to relieve overcrowding at Carson and Banning high schools. The school would be approximately 182,000 square feet in size and facilities would include approximately 67 classrooms, a library/media center, a performing arts center, two gymnasiums, a multi-purpose facility, a career center, a health center, set-aside classrooms, a student store, centralized administrative offices, and a police/security facility. The remainder of the site would be developed with recreational and athletic facilities. Subterranean faculty/staff parking would be provided at the northern end of the site. Construction is proposed to start in the first quarter of 2008 and would take approximately 30 months to complete, with opening planned for fall 2011.
