Document Description
The project is a new permanent central aircraft fuel receiving, storage, and distribution facility project at the March Inland Port Airport. The project will involve the demolition of building 1305 (former United States Air Force Alert Facility, control tower, pool, pool out buildings and racquetball court). Rezoning the 6.1 acre site to Aviation Use allows implementation of the March Joint Powers Authority (March JPA) General Plan and Development Code. The project is consistent with the requirements and development standards of the March JPA Development Code. The intent of the Fuel Farm is to provide on-site fuel storage for commercial aircraft operating at March Inland Port. The Fuel Farm is planned to provide a five-day supply of aviation fuel, to allow continued operation of the airport in the event of a temporary constriction in the supply of aviation fuel. The phased construction of the Fuel Farm would provide for the initial construction of two-105,000 gallon Jet-A storage tanks. At ultimate build out, the storage capacity would be six-105,000 gallon fuel tanks, with a total capacity of 630,000 gallons of fuel.
