Document Description
LBNL proposes to demolish the Bevatron accelerator and the structure housing it, Building 51, located at the LBNL main Hill site. Approximately 2.25 acres would be converted from developed area (i.e., occupied by Building 51) to an undeveloped area for an indeterminate time. The concrete shielding blocks that surround the Bevatron would be removed, the Bevatron apparatus would be disassembled, Building 51 and the shallow foundation underneath the building demolished, and the resulting debris and other materials removed.
