The project site has been utilized as a stone, gravel and sand quarry since the early 1900's. However, mining activities ceased around 1995. Activity at the site is currently limited to asphalt production and rock crushing. The entire site is currently zoned Heavy Industrial (M-2). The 1989 Sonoma County General Plan designates the site as General Industrial, and the City of Petaluma General Plan designates the site as Industrial with a Mineral Resource Overlay.
Document Description
The Lomas Petaluma Planned Unit Development proposes a residential community made up of 170 single-family residences, 80 condominiums and 64 Live/Work condominium residences. A network of parks and recreational amenities are proposed as part of the residential project. Street improvements and signal installation on Petaluma Blvd. South are also proposed.
