Document Description
The SJVRWRF has a capacity of treat 11 million gallons per day (mgd) of municipal wastewater. The increasing influent strength experienced in recent years and the operations (Title 22) requirement to provide redundant capacity limits the effective overall reliable treatment to 7.5 mgd. The Project will improve and expand the SJVRWRF treatment capacity from 11 mgd to 14 mgd of tertiary effluent that meets future demands in compliance with regulatory requirements, water quality standards and accommodates current and projected future demand for wastewater treatment in the District's service area. The Project will include the following: 1) constructing new electrical and maintenance buildings, 2) improving an influent pump station, and 3) improving the head-works, primary treatment facilities, secondary treatment facilities, tertiary pump station, solids treatment system, power supply, and distribution facilities. All water discharged from the SJVRWRF will be delivered to the District's water recycling system for subsequent use.
