Document Description
The proposed project is the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan (ALUCP). The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, acting as the Airport Land Use Commission for the County of San Diego, is required by law to adopt an ALUCP for "area[s] within the jurisdiction of the [ALUC] surrounding any military airport." (Pub. Util. Code, §21675, subd. (b).) The MCAS Miramar site lies within the jurisdiction of the ALUC.
The basic function of an ALUCP is to promote compatibility between an airport and the land uses that surround the airport and lie within the airport's designated airport influence area, to the extent that these areas are not already devoted to incompatible uses.
