The proposed project is the construction of residential housing on portions of a 125.89-acre parcel on the western edge of the City of Taft. The total developed area within the parcel will be 96.86 acres. Project implementation will result in impacts to the San Joaquin antelope squirrel (Ammospermophilus nelsoni) and the San Joaquin kit fox (Volpes macrotis mutca), which are known to occur on the project site; these species are designated as Threatened under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA).
