Document Description
LACOSAN is proposing to complete the loop around Clear Lake to convey treated wastewater effluent to the existing Southeast Geysers Effluent Pipeline (SEGEP) system for injection in the Geysers for geothermal energy production. The proposed facilities are intended to increase the SEGEP's system reliability, redundancy, and flexibility. Specifically, the proposed pipeline would provide an alternative source of supply in the event that the existing SEGEP or related facilities are off-line for repairs or other emergencies, or if drought or other situations would reduce the amount of effluent pumped to the SEGEP system. The proposed project would not result in increased reinjection to the Geysers geothermal reservoir.
