The City of Claremont General Plan Land Use Element designates the pump location as "Low Density Residential," and the Spreading Grounds as "Open Space." The portion of the Spreading Grounds in the City of Upland is also designated "Open Space" by the City's General Plan.
Document Description
A conjunctive use groundwater management project that will increase the reliability and reduce the cost of water supply within the Six Basins Area by storing imported water in the portions of the Six Basins Area aquifer on an opportunistic basis (when water is available). The purpose of the project will be to supplement the storage and extraction of groundwater to manager groundwater levels in the Claremont Heights Basin. To do this, Three Valleys MWD proposes to construct infrastructure necessary.
