Document Description
The City of Gardena has prepared the City of Gardena General Plan 2006. The purpose of the General Plan is to provide a policy framework to direct the future growth and development needed to serve the population within the City of Gardena. The General Plan provides direction to the administrative and legislative functions within the City and helps provide guidance to effectively determine desired development and revitalization, and direction on matters of priority and emphasis for the City. The General Plan includes policies related to land use, economic development, community design, circulation, open space, conservation, public safety, and noise. The Housing Element was previously updated and adopted by the Gardena City Council on December 2000 and certified by the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) in 2001.
